An estimated 8 million Americans will hear voices at some point during their adult lives (rates are higher in children). Nearly 90% of them have also experienced trauma.
This session will explore the following:
1. How looking at the deeper meaning and messages of voices can assist us in empowering trauma survivors.
2. It will also introduce healing modalities and coping strategies for dealing with distressing voices that can create real change in survivors' relationship to voice-hearing.
3. Finally, the session will cover concrete ways to avoid re-traumatization in therapeutic relationships with voice-hearers.
